Men: Beauty or brawn, or both?

Beauty for men is not about lipsticks and eye shadows. It’s about highlighting the attractive features and concealing imperfections. Men have oilier skin and significantly larger pores than women do. Nowadays, even the most macho men are dipping into creams and moisturizers.

Men tend to spend more time outdoors than women, therefore environmental pollutants affect their skin’s health. Hence, men should learn on how to get the most from a cleansing, toning and moisturizing regime.

A large variety of men’s grooming products is meant to maintain tidy, good looking and, most importantly, mainly appearance. Therefore, men are buying more grooming products for themselves rather than relying on any gifts to replenish their stock of toiletries.

Unlike women, men haven’t grown up being familiar with skincare-speak. So, men tend to be fear in discussing about skincare problems with their mates. As a result, men often suffer in silence.

First and foremost, the lingo is carefully selected. Most beauty company don’t refer to men’s skincare product but rather skincare supplies, in order to stress their functional aspect. You won’t see many moisturizers specifically called moisturizers either. They more commonly referred to as Men’s lotion or balm. This is because research shows that men view moisturizers as a classically feminine product, hence it is better to replace the men’s varieties to be lotions or balms.

In general, men hate rich, creamy consistencies, and they can’t stand the thought of a product making their face appear greasy. This is apparently because it triggers latent fears that it may weaken his facial tone! Therefore, it is why men lotions are often formulated to dry to matte finish.

When it comes to selling fragrance, there are even differences in the way a consultant holds the bottle. When demonstrating a fragrance to a woman, the consultant should place the bottle delicately on the palm of one hand, supporting it lightly around the collar with her other hand in order to give the impression it’s something very precious. For men, though, it’s better to grab the bottle and wrap your fingers around its middle. Perhaps, this looks more masculine.

The popularity of men’s products can be easily accounted for by the fact that physical attractiveness is the promise of success in both the career and private life. There are only a few exceptions to the general rule of judging people by the exterior. Although it is true that the inner qualities matter much more, but it is true that appearances speak volumes about the person’s attitude to himself, his character and his ambitions.

Apparently, men are more keen to know the effects a fragrance may have on the opposite sex. Men often ask whether it will make them more attractive to women. But I have never heard a women ask whether a certain perfume will help her get a man!

Men’s beauty products will not turn the average guy into a movie star, but they will help him to make the most of what was given to him by Mother Nature.

Beauty is pleasant to the eye, which admires both men and women.
